AM- Today we I ran the Ashley 50 Mile Ultra Relay as a two-man team with my old high school cross country teammate, Austin Valentine. I did this same relay last year as a four-man team, so this year I wanted to try something different and do the two-man instead. I am pretty sure that the total distance was actually a little bit over 48 miles, based on the strava data and leg distances. My first two legs were pretty difficult with over 1,000 ft climb in 6.6 miles for my first leg, and then about 550 ft of climbing in my second leg, which was about 4 miles. I ended up having some pretty bad cramping in these legs, because of the hills and maybe because of my low iron levels. Still working on getting that back to normal. My last two legs had more downhill, which was nice because I could really start to pick it up towards the end. We ended up taking second place overall, so we were happy with the results. It was also a nice day of a long run!
