Ran cross country and track all throughout high school. Met a lot of great people and enjoyed the races, travel time, and the overall process for all four years. I made varsity several times throughout high school, but had to work quite a bit for it as well. Overall, had a great experience with it though!

Born again Christian. I have been a type 1 diabetic since 2015 and celiac since 2018, and even though I have had my struggles with it, I still strive to live a healthy life. Senior at Utah State University studying Health Science. Hoping to go into pharmaceuticals and focus on diabetic supplies and medicine, because I am quite passionate about helping those that have the same medical condition as I do.

Got home late from two days at Lagoon. Haven't had much speed or tempo work since Friday so I decided to try a little 3 mile easier effort tempo today. Felt great through the entire run. Average pace was 6:07. And I adusted my watch so it works better. Cooldown a mile barefoot.

AM- Practice this morning. Mile warmup then 4 miles easy with Jeremiah, had a good talk with him. Rolled out and stretched after. Tomorrow we are doing a mile time trial on the track so it should be a fun morning.

PM- Easy 4 miles down from the park to my house. Felt good for most of it then my legs got really stiff during the last mile of the run.

AM- Mile warmup, followed by dynamics and stretches. Mile time trial today. I haven't done a lot of speed lately, so I didn't really know how it would go. Got out slow and I knew it too. Felt fine the entire time. Got 5:12, which isn't too bad for no speed work and not doing much track work. Had alot more left in the tank for sure. Afterward did a 3 mile cooldown with Clayton and Talon. Average pace 6:58. Gonna do the Daniel Gurr 5k tonight. Not really gonna try and race it just see how I feel. Should be a good night.

PM- Got to the 5k and got signed up. There were not as many people there as I thought but it was still a fun race. Got out and everyone was basically jogging like a 9:00 pace so I just decided to start out really easy with a 7:40 pace the first couple minutes, but then there was this one marine who started to basically go ham!!! Dropped the pace down to 5:30 after that haha. Got about 2 miles in and he died, so I was basically alone and took it at a tempo pace for the rest of the run. Cause I really didn't feel like going race pace for this run. Came in at 19:11. I believe it was a little longer than a 5k because there are lots of 5ks at the college and they all start at the college but this one started at the high school. Oh well good run for a great cause!!! Thanks for your service Daniel Gurr!!! Also S/O to Rylie for walking with her mom!!!

Woke up late and we went fishing today so I didn't do a morning run. Had a good time fishing though. Got back in the afternoon and it was raining so I didn't want to miss the opportunity to do some rainy miles. Did 7 easy miles from the park down Vernal Abenue and up to kids canal. It felt nice to get a cool run in. Average pace 7:12.

Mile warmup with some dynamics. Today we were going for an LSD run. But as usual we end up going faster than normal. Haha. First mile was a 7:26, then second was a 6:48, Third mile was faster with a 6:25. Then just held a pretty good pace from there. Good run today with Clayton, Rylie, Talon, and Kedric. Cool down afterward to get to 7. Average pace 6:43.

PM- 3 miles easy with strides up around the canal. Surprisingly it was quite cool and breezy.

AM- 6.5 miles out at Little Brush Creek. Felt really good today and my blood sugar has been awsome lately. I've been taking a lot more Chromium and Berberine vitamins which helps a lot. Good run today!!! Average pace 7:12.

Went up to the Flume Trail today. Which was a blast!!!! Mile warmup up the road and then about 4 miles on the trail and back down to the start of it. Fun day!!! Took it really easy cause of time trials tomorrow. Ready to go for tomorrow!!!

Today was time trials. Woke up and felt really quite good for 5 am. Mile warmup then we were off. I didn't really have a goal time just placement in any of the top three. First mile it was me, Kedric, and Clayton, which is who was in the race for top three the whole race. I tucked in behind Clayton and Kedric for half the race then Kedric made a big surge to the front so I decided to try and go with him. Tried to catch him at the post office turn but didn't quite get it. Finished with a 17:11. Which is a lot better than last years time trials. After I saw the time I was hoping for sub 17 but oh well still happy with it to get the XC season started off.  Our top three boys are strong just need to get four and five up there. The girls ran really good times too. Went to Kedrics house for breakfast after which was nice.

PM- 4 miles easy. Took it pretty slow after racing this morning.

AM- Didn't make it to practice this morning. Just did 5 miles easy out to the Honda Hills and back. I can definitely tell it's been getting cooler in the mornings. Average pace 7:06

PM- 4 miles on the Aggie route. Started out slower then picked it up towards the end. Did one mile barefoot on the grass when I got back.

AM- One mile easy then a little 3 miles of speed changes ranging from 6:50s to 6 flat. Didn't want to do too much cause we have practice and it will probably be something stupid hard like hill repeats at Yellow Hill. Mile cool down to get to 5 for the morning.

PM- 7 miles at practice in the evening wasn't near the hard workout I thought it would be for the evening. Went with Clayton and Kedric. Had a really good good talk about the XC season coming up. Pace was right around 7:30s which felt nice. Good run!!!

AM- Went to the Dinosaur Tracks Trail today. It was a lot of fun, once we got to the end of the trail we cliff jumped into red fleet for a little while. Then jogged back to the cars for breakfast. Hoping for a good race at Highland tomorrow!!!

First day of school man the summer has flew by too fast haha!!! Only went to the assembly and then first hour then we headed for the meet. I honestly did not feel quite right when I got there, but when I got moving around felt better. Did about a mile warmup then strides and dynamics and we were off. First mile was right around a 5:45ish. Which felt a lot harder than normal because of the heat it was like 95 today so pretty bad. Then second mile I tried to just keep picking kids off and moving up. Finished with an ok time but I was hoping for low 16. But I was happy with the effort today considering the conditions. S/O to everyone on the team that competed today, first meet of the season and now all the jitters are out. Next is to get ready for Pre Region and Payson Meet!!!

PM- Was gonna wake up before school and do like 3 miles easy or something but I was pretty tired from the meet so I just slept in. I don't have a 5th hour this tri-mester so I decided to do 5 easy miles before practice cause today is core day. Pace was easy with 7:08 average. Got to practice and I thought it was at 3:30, but it was at 3 so I didn't do a full warmup mile. Did s few form strides then we did a 1.25 miles to the bull and back. That was a little quicker with a 6:20 pace. Then did some core and Oly lifting after. Cooldown a little bit afterward.

AM- Got out a little later today cause I was up late at the football game. Today I decided to get in a little it of speed. Warmup 2 miles around the neighborhood then I did 8 200s with 200 jog in between. Splits were: 35,33,34,34,33,33,32,32. Felt like I kept them pretty consistent and smooth. I really want to do a little more short and fast workouts cause I need a better kick and leg speed. Cooldown 2 miles to get to 6.

AM- 5 miles easy in the morning average about 7 flat which felt nice. Went out to the Honda hills and back.

PM- All I can say is this run was like running on the highway to hell!! Please excuse my French but it was terrible. 50 mph winds. We ran up to yellow hill from the high school and did a ladder up it. Clayton and I didn't start when everyone did so cause had to go to the bathroom, but we still tried to go and catch everyone. Got to the hill and had to stop cause I wanted my legs to feel somewhat good on the hill. Got up and down the first ladder and my legs were really tight. Then the second till the last felt a lot better. On the way back I picked up the pace quite a bit and the wind was with me so that felt nice. Pace on the way back was 6:00 flat. Was pretty tired when I got back but it was still a good run!! Hot tubbing while right this.

Today was not quite an ideal race for me. I felt good until about mid afternoon and I got really tired and I had a headache Checked my blood sugar and it was really high 220. So I took some insulin and did my 2 mile warmup with dynamics and some strides. Then I checked right before the race just so it would be all good and it was really low, 44. You have got to be kidding me. I was almost going to not run just to be safe. I ate a bunch of fruit snacks and drank some Gatorade about 5 minutes before the race. Got out felt really bad the first mile. Then I think the food kinda kicked in so I felt a little better the rest of the race. Kedric and Claytons watch said a 5k when they crossed the finish so maybe it was a 5k. But oh well it's only pre region so no big deal.

Today was the a pretty good day for the whole team. Got to the course and jogged around 3 miles before our race. Dynamics and several strides then we were off. Tried to stay in the pack as well as possible and stay consistent. Tucked behind Clayton and Kedric for about half the race thenKedric surged ahead to get a fair lead on us. This course was pretty legit to say the least. Was happy with the time for this course and the darkness that we had to be cautious of. Wanted top ten but I'm not going to be a sore loser over it cause I am happy with the effort, and the way everyone on the team performed. S/O to Kedric and Clayton for making top 10!! You guys are beast!!! Really excited to see how BYU goes!!!

Got home at noon from the over nighter from the meet, and we didn't go to bed until 2 which was quite fun and good talks with Clayton and Junior. Got home and did 8 miles easy. Legs were tight, probably because I didn't warmup before. Kept the pace slow around 7:30s.

Later in the evening I did just 3 miles over by the golf course. Did a couple surges and speed changes.

PM- Today for practice we ran up to the hill right before docks beach. Felt kinda tired on the way. Probably dehydrated some. Went pretty much the the entire run with Kedric. We kept a fair pace but nothing crazy. Felt better coming back than going out for sure. Good run overall. Average pace 6:53

PM- Speedwork today. Didn't quite know how I would feel cause I've been totally on distance lately. But today felt really good!!! Mile warmup, dynamics then a few strides to get the legs moving. The was 1 mile, 4-800s, and then 4-400s. Mile felt a little tight but not hard. 5:33. Then the 800s felt really good hit 2:37, 2:36, 2:37, and 2:31 for the last one. 400s were 75,73,72,67. Felt like it was a really good effort today for everyone. Now ready for BYU!!! #onemomile
