Freshmen Year-  When I started on Uintah I really didn't know how I would do. Ran a 5k or two and then just started running with the team. The older kids really liked me and called me the good freshmen. I then made varsity, which kinda ticked Nathan off but I was happy with it. Time trials I ran like 18 flat. Along with Mason,Connor, and other people. The first few races went really good then I went to the doctor and he told me to get fat because he thought I was too skinny so the second part of my season was pretty crappy. I didn't get to go to state and was ticked because Nathan beat me at region.

 

Sophomore Year- This was the year that I got that dark Cherokee blood running through me and then I decided to just haul butt the whole season because I was ticked at what happened to me freshman year. The first few meets of cross country and the whole season was great. I was able to go to state and got a low seventeen for 3 miles. And track went better too. Because normally I love cross country more than track. It was a pretty good year for this Cherokee kid.

AM- Solid 15 mile long run this morning. No straining or pushes, just basically tried to float most of the way. Legs are a bit tired though now. 7:06 average pace.

AM- 2 mile warmup, 10 x 800m w/ roughly a 2-3 minute recovery in between. Wanted to try to hit 2:50 for all of them, but I kind of negative split the workout which I am still happy with. Splits were 2:56, 2:53, 2:50, 2:52, 2:49, 2:48, 2:48, 2:49, 2:49, 2:47. Overall a good workout. 3 mile cooldown afterward.

AM- 10.1 easy miles starting from the park, and looping around towards kids canal. 7:26 average. Debating if I should do a tempo tomorrow, even though I have an intense crossfit workout planned with some easy mileage. Just have to see how I feel.

PM- 6.1 miles starting from home. 7:21 average. Aced my first math test of the semester, which I am extremely happy about! Good start to the school year.

AM- 5.3 mile progression run, starting at 7:30 pace, ending at 6:00 flat. Last two miles in 6:32 and 6:16. 6:55 average. Legs were tired this morning, and didn't seem to want to get moving.

PM- 7 miles after coming home from Rangeley to get my teeth cleaned at their community college. They are ranked top ten in the nation for dental hygiene school, so I though that was pretty cool. 7:29 average.

AM- Did not feel good for the first 4 miles. Almost was going to drop goal pace, and just run easy. Finally started to feel better, and got rolling pretty good towards the end of the run. 6:34 average for 14.1 miles, then just did an extra mile on the treadmill when I got home to make it a 70 mile week. Happy that I did not give up on this one!

AM- Planned on doing a tempo today, and I tried to go for it after a mile or two of warmup, but the legs were just not feeling it today. Ended up just doing some easy miles, and my legs felt much better towards the end. 7:37 average.

PM- After a long day of studying math and psychology, I was in much need of a shakeout run this evening. 5 miles easy on the canal trail to clear my mind. Felt very refreshed afterward.

PM- Unsuccessful tempo this afternoon. With the heat, 25 mph winds, and a low blood sugar, I was just worn out after this run. Also felt pretty dehydrated during this run (my mistake), but still tried to finish up the run. Win some, lose some I guess. 7:18 average pace.

AM- My usual weekend long run this weekend ended up being my longest training run, besides running my two marathons of course. 20.1 mile long run on the canal trail. I felt great during the entire run, and kept the pace comfortable. 7:09 average pace. Loose dirt and gravel is just what I like on a Saturday morning.

AM- Race Report: Woke up at 4:30am, because I had to be at Maesar Elementary by 5:45 to catch the bus to go to the start of the race. Made sure to drink plenty of water before the start, because I think that making sure that I am hydrated helps my body and performance overall. There wasn't very many people or competition running the race (only like 82 runners), so I basically had to run the entire race alone. I was expecting to run right around a 1:20, if I felt good. From the start, 5:50-5:55 pace felt great, so I just went with it. One of the things that I was especially happy about my performance today was that I was able to even pace/slightly negative split the race, because I was worried that I was going to "blow up" around mile 10. Also I was quite surprised with my performance today, because I didn't have any competition to push me, and I have done little speed work under 6 minute pace during this training cycle. This race today was over a 3 minute improvement from what I ran at the Dino Half earlier this spring, and they are the same course, so I do think that I have improved as a runner over the last few months. Overall I am really happy with how today went, and I am looking forward to see what I can do at the Salt Lake Haunted Half next month!

AM- Recovery run from the park, up Maine, and finishing up with a couple of laps  around Legacy. Felt pretty good, but my legs are somewhat sore and heavy from Saturday. 7:41 average.
