Ran cross country and track all throughout high school. Met a lot of great people and enjoyed the races, travel time, and the overall process for all four years. I made varsity several times throughout high school, but had to work quite a bit for it as well. Overall, had a great experience with it though!

Personal:

Born again Christian. I have been a type 1 diabetic since 2015 and celiac since 2018, and even though I have had my struggles with it, I still strive to live a healthy life. Senior at Utah State University studying Health Science. Hoping to go into pharmaceuticals and focus on diabetic supplies and medicine, because I am quite passionate about helping those that have the same medical condition as I do.

AM- 3 mile walk today. So I just want to update on the blog with my health and what is concerning me, my doctor, and my family. Overall since around late December/early January, running has just not felt the same. I have not been enjoying my runs, and haven't had a lot of energy to complete workouts, such as tempos and speed. On Wednesday, I ran home from my anatomy class, which was about 7 miles, and felt pretty bad all throughout the run. When I got home, my blood glucose level was almost 600. Finally got the blood glucose down to somewhat a safe range, and went to play my 7 on 7 soccer game that night. Breathing felt bad and my body just felt weak. On Thursday, I ran 10.5, and was breathing very hard at about 8:30-8:45 pace, which is definitely not normal for me, because that should be a very easy and relaxed recovery run for me. Once I got home, my family and I decided that I needed to go see my doctor. Turns out I have lost quite a bit of weight over the course of the last ten days (over 10 lbs). My lymph nodes are swollen and I am anemic, which explains why my body is always cold, and I just don't have the energy or motivation to run or do much physical activity in general. My doctor is having me do more blood work on Monday, to get more of a good diagnosis as to what all is going on with my body. As of right now, I am not allowed to run, just walk for the next two weeks until I have a follow up appointment with my doctor. I am hoping that there is nothing too serious going on, but whatever it takes for me to feel like myself again, I will definitely be doing my best to get healthy. I know this is a long post, but I just felt like I wanted to share what has been going on lately. Even though it is frustrating that I don't know when I will be able to run again, I know that I will come back a stronger and happier runner, once I get myself feeling better. Over the next two weeks, even though I will just be walking, I will still post here and there, just to stay updated on the blog.

Bummer Kenny! Glad you went to the doctor though - hope everything turns out ok and it's a simple problem to solve.
