Ran cross country and track all throughout high school. Met a lot of great people and enjoyed the races, travel time, and the overall process for all four years. I made varsity several times throughout high school, but had to work quite a bit for it as well. Overall, had a great experience with it though!

Personal:

Born again Christian. I have been a type 1 diabetic since 2015 and celiac since 2018, and even though I have had my struggles with it, I still strive to live a healthy life. Senior at Utah State University studying Health Science. Hoping to go into pharmaceuticals and focus on diabetic supplies and medicine, because I am quite passionate about helping those that have the same medical condition as I do.

Woke up before school and I had to go to the hospital to get some blood drawn. Got there and they started drawing my blood and they had to draw a lot and all of a sudden I passed out for about 3 minutes. I felt like it was a total dream, afterwards I felt really tired and light headed so I just went to school and wasn't going to go to practice, but that evening I still wanted to do something so I did a tempo run of about 3.5 miles at 6:27 pace. Was really tired during it though. Studies after.

Spent the night before out in Salt Lake. Watched The Walking Dead and made jokes about my Cherokee race. Anyway the next morning ended up warming up a mile followed by dynamics. I ran the JV race today because Jordan knocked me off. There were about 400 people in my race, which I wasn't happy about, so I tried to get out fast so that I could get a up front. It didn't turn out like I planned for the start but oh well. First mile was solid with a 5:44. Slowed down a bit through the second mile where there was quite a few hills. Tried to pass as many people as I could but still was slowing down some. Finished with a time that I was satisfied with. I felt more confident today than any other race this season which is a good starting point. I really going to try to push really hard the next few meets to make it to state!!! I am not going to let diabetes hold me back!!! Shout out to all of my teammates for competing with an awesome effort today!!!  #Cherokee#WeAreCherokeeNation
