Running Accomplishments:

Ran cross country and track all throughout high school. Met a lot of great people and enjoyed the races, travel time, and the overall process for all four years. I made varsity several times throughout high school, but had to work quite a bit for it as well. Overall, had a great experience with it though!

Personal:

Born again Christian. I have been a type 1 diabetic since 2015 and celiac since 2018, and even though I have had my struggles with it, I still strive to live a healthy life. Senior at Utah State University studying Health Science. Hoping to go into pharmaceuticals and focus on diabetic supplies and medicine, because I am quite passionate about helping those that have the same medical condition as I do.

Slept in for a good while after going to the Haunted Woods which was sick!!! Warmed up for about a mile then went out for a 4 mile tempo. Started out at about 6:40 pace then worked my way down to about 6:04. Focused on my turnover and a shorter stride which helped a lot made it feel a lot more efficient. Cooled down on the bike.

Warm up for for a mile then we decided to run to docks beach and back. Well at least almost to Docks beach. We started out with about a 7 minute mile pace until we got to the hill that was a pretty long decent climb. Aaron and Nathan were ahead for the climb and I was staying with Christian until Mason passes us both and catches up to Aaron and Nathan ran back to the High School at about 6:30 avg pace. Felt good and was a pretty fun workout!!!

Drove up to Boise today for Bob Firman. It was the hottest bus ride I have been on. But once we got there after 10 hours of driving we wanted to run the course but the bus driver was over hours to drive so we just ran around neighborhoods and other hotels. Strides after.

Got to the course and walked around it for a while since my race didn't start till 11:00. The varsity race was set up a little different for this race because Mason, Aaron, Christian, and Nathan were in the elite race so shout out to them. Warmed up for 1.5 strides after and dynamics yah know the routine. Then we got to the start line. This race was crammed packed full of kids. They had to even have a funnel start to separate us in half. Gun goes off and I wanted to try and get out quick but I got boxed in which was kinda bad for this race; the funnel ended and I was just trying to keep pace with Austin and Kedric. First mile was about 10 seconds slower than what I had hoped for with a 5:36, but I knew that it might happen because of the crowd of kids. Hung in with until towards the end of the second lap. My form started to go to crap. And with about 50m left Austin passed me but I alright with it, it was still a fun race.   #CherokeeNation
