I was planning on going out 6 miles to make it 12 total, but once I got out to about 5 miles, the snow started to build up pretty good and I didn't want to worry about falling, so I just turned around there. Really enjoyable run though! 10:37 average.
Sat, 09 Nov 2019 07:00:00 Fri, Nov 08, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-11-08-2019.html
AM- 7.3 out to Naples and back. 7:41 average. Legs felt ok, but breathing wasn't as good as yesterday's run.
PM- 3.2 mile shakeout in LaPoint after mowing my grandmas lawn. She has a nice 1/2 mile long dirt road, which was nice! 8:01 average.

Fri, 08 Nov 2019 07:00:00 Thu, Nov 07, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-11-07-2019.html
AM- Mid morning run with Ty. 8:05 average. Nice to catch up with him, and see how his training is going. Could have ran outside today, but just decided to wait till it warms up some more. It was still only like 5 degrees this morning!
Thu, 31 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Wed, Oct 30, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-30-2019.html
PM- 13.3 miles on the gym TM at around noon. Listened to Dr. Phil's podcast "Phil in the Blanks", which has some interesting people interviewed from time to time. It feels like January outside!
Wed, 30 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Tue, Oct 29, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-29-2019.html
PM- Didn't get in a run today, but I did want to get in some kind of activity, so I ended up doing 200 burpees for time. Got them done in 16:13, which I am quite happy with considering that I have done hardly any burpees lately.
Tue, 29 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Mon, Oct 28, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-28-2019.html
PM- 8.75 miles on the TM. I think the high was 28 degrees today, so winter is basically here right now.
Mon, 28 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Sun, Oct 27, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-27-2019.html
PM- Wasn't planning on getting in a run tonight, but just felt like moving a bit. 5.5 miles on the treadmill watching the Packers and the Chiefs game.
Sun, 27 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Sat, Oct 26, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-26-2019.html
AM- I decided that I wanted to get in some trail running before I start training hard for the Boston Marathon in the next couple of weeks. Went and did 6 miles on the Flume Trail, and I really enjoyed it. Good to mix it up with road runnings sometimes. Afterwards, I went back into town and ran 8.5 miles on down Maine St. Overall a good day of exploring and running!
Sat, 26 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Thu, Oct 24, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-24-2019.html
AM- 10.5 out past the rec center, then once I got back to the park, I did an extra 2 miles on grass.
Thu, 24 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Tue, Oct 22, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-22-2019.html
AM- 10.5 on kid's canal road. Felt better during today's run than during yesterday's crossfit workout.

PM- Quick crossfit workout this afternoon. Benchmark workout "Annie" for time: 50-40-30-20-10 of double unders and situps. My time was 7:25 on this workout, which is not too bad but I know I can do a lot better. I think that I will do this workout once a month or so, just to see how I can progress on it.
Tue, 22 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Mon, Oct 21, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-21-2019.html
PM- Crossfit workout at noon. 10 minute warmup on the airdyne bike, then 30 minute amrap of 50 double unders, 10 pushups, 20 situps, 1 minute plank, 1 minute hard on airdyne bike. It was pretty tough, as I have not done much crossfit lately, but I feel as though doing some of these workouts will make me stronger as a runner. After the workout, I did 6.3 easy around my neighborhood.
Mon, 21 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Sun, Oct 20, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-20-2019.html
PM- Easy 10k. I was planning on going hiking this afternoon on the ship trails and dino tracks trails out past Red Fleet, but it was really windy, cold, and some flurries. It was much warmer here in town, so I just decided to do a shorter run today. Might go out there later in the week on a warmer day. Felt good!
Sun, 20 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Sat, Oct 19, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-19-2019.html
AM- 16.5 miles from Vernal Park, then out to Naples, and back to the park. Then looped up to kid's canal and back. Probably too far in distance post Chicago Marathon, but I feel as though I want to get out there some before the weather turns out colder. Overall a beautiful fall morning run!
Sat, 19 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Fri, Oct 18, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-18-2019.html
AM- 70 minute walk earlier in the morning, then did a little crossfit workout just before noon. Even though it was just double unders and the assault bike, it still kind of kicked my butt. Felt good to mix it up today though!
Fri, 18 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Thu, Oct 17, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-17-2019.html
AM- 10k easy on kid's canal. For the week or two, I am going to just being doing shorter runs and going very easy to let my body recharge for my spring training and build up towards Phoenix Marathon in February and Boston in April. I just realized the other day that after Boston in April, I will have ran 5 marathons in a 12 month period, and this does not include my 42 mile ultra race in July and the Ashley 50 mile relay in August, which was basically a marathon, since I ran 25 miles in that race. Overall, I want to have a really good build up for Phoenix and possibly Boston, so having some down time from high mileage for the next couple of weeks I think is important. It might seem like an out of range goal for me, but if I can stay healthy and get my iron levels up, I think that sub 2:50 at either Phoenix or Boston is quite realistic. And even though winter training will be difficult with the cold temperatures, I am going to give it my best at both races!
Thu, 17 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Wed, Oct 16, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-16-2019.html
PM- 5 miles out towards Naples and back. Forgot that it is starting to get dark out by 7pm, so I need to remember my headlamp for evening runs lol!
Wed, 16 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Sun, Oct 13, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-13-2019.html
AM- Chicago Marathon 2019: What a great experience today running my first Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Woke up at 4:30, ate some breakfast, then got ready to take the subway over to the starting line. With 45,000+ runners, getting into the corral took quite a bit of time, and I didn't have much spare time to use the bathrooms, get warmed up, and just get mentally prepared for the race. Also, I couldn't find the gear check for my corral, so I just had to put my drop off bag in some bushes at the park, since I only had 5 minutes to get into my corral. Got into the starting corral, and moments later we were off and running. I wasn't expecting a lot during this race, since I had just previously ran Big Cottonwood last month and my legs were feeling a bit sluggish with the traveling and everything. Stayed with the 3 hour pace group for several miles, but then fell off of them in the latter stages of the race. Once I got to miles 18-20, I really wanted to just enjoy the experience of the race and that is just what I did. Overall, I would say that this was one of my favorite races that I have ever done, and that I definitely will be back in the future to run the Bank of America Chicago Marathon!
Sun, 13 Oct 2019 06:00:00 Sat, Oct 12, 2019 http://kenny.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-12-2019.html
AM- 4.5 miles easy pre-race shakeout on hotel TM. Feeling pretty good, and I am excited to race the Chicago Marathon in the morning!
Sat, 12 Oct 2019 06:00:00
