Felt pretty goo during it today, but still have some work to do. I would like to try to average about 5:50 for the whole run. Trying to make progress. I felt great during the entire run, and kept the pace comfortable. 7:09 average pace. With the heat, 25 mph winds, and a low blood sugar, I was just worn out after this run. Also felt pretty dehydrated during this run (my mistake), but still tried to finish up the run. Ended up just doing some easy miles, and my legs felt much better towards the end. 7:37 average.</p> <p>PM- After a long day of studying math and psychology, I was in much need of a shakeout run this evening. 5 miles easy on the canal trail to clear my mind. Usually I only go out 4 miles and come back, but I decided to do the entire trail today. Almost was going to drop goal pace, and just run easy. Finally started to feel better, and got rolling pretty good towards the end of the run. 6:34 average for 14.1 miles, then just did an extra mile on the treadmill when I got home to make it a 70 mile week. Wanted to try to hit 2:50 for all of them, but I kind of negative split the workout which I am still happy with. Splits were 2:56, 2:53, 2:50, 2:52, 2:49, 2:48, 2:48, 2:49, 2:49, 2:47. The tempo felt harder than it should have today, but it was my first one for this training block, so I am not too upset about it. Felt alright.</p> Sun, 19 Aug 2018 06:00:00 Sat, Aug 18, 2018 <p>AM- Did the Ashley 50 Relay today as a four man team with Blake, Amanda, and Ty. I talked to Ty a little bit and told him that I would run leg 3 with him, and then go on with leg 4, which was orignally my leg to begin with. Lots of climbing during this run, but kept the pace pretty good. 7:20 average pace for these first two legs.&nbsp;</p> <p>PM- Had about 3 hours before I would start my last leg of 5.5 miles. Wanted to go faster for this one, but not try to kill myself on it. Mostly downhill throughout this leg, made it somewhat nice to have a break from all the hills. 6:07 pace for this last leg. Overall it was a really fun relay. Our team took first overall, and completed the 50 miles in under 6 hours. It was nice to run on dirt roads for a change, and get up into the mountains for some good training. Hit a little bit more mileage this week than I would have liked to, but I never felt tired or worn down, so a good first week of fall training.</p> Sat, 18 Aug 2018 06:00:00
