Ran cross country and track all throughout high school. Met a lot of great people and enjoyed the races, travel time, and the overall process for all four years. I made varsity several times throughout high school, but had to work quite a bit for it as well. Overall, had a great experience with it though!

AM- 3 mile walk today. So I just want to update on the blog with my health and what is concerning me, my doctor, and my family. Overall since around late December/early January, running has just not felt the same. I have not been enjoying my runs, and haven't had a lot of energy to complete workouts, such as tempos and speed. On Wednesday, I ran home from my anatomy class, which was about 7 miles, and felt pretty bad all throughout the run. When I got home, my blood glucose level was almost 600. Finally got the blood glucose down to somewhat a safe range, and went to play my 7 on 7 soccer game that night. Breathing felt bad and my body just felt weak. On Thursday, I ran 10.5, and was breathing very hard at about 8:30-8:45 pace, which is definitely not normal for me, because that should be a very easy and relaxed recovery run for me. Once I got home, my family and I decided that I needed to go see my doctor. Turns out I have lost quite a bit of weight over the course of the last ten days (over 10 lbs). My lymph nodes are swollen and I am anemic, which explains why my body is always cold, and I just don't have the energy or motivation to run or do much physical activity in general. My doctor is having me do more blood work on Monday, to get more of a good diagnosis as to what all is going on with my body. As of right now, I am not allowed to run, just walk for the next two weeks until I have a follow up appointment with my doctor. I am hoping that there is nothing too serious going on, but whatever it takes for me to feel like myself again, I will definitely be doing my best to get healthy. I know this is a long post, but I just felt like I wanted to share what has been going on lately. Even though it is frustrating that I don't know when I will be able to run again, I know that I will come back a stronger and happier runner, once I get myself feeling better. Over the next two weeks, even though I will just be walking, I will still post here and there, just to stay updated on the blog.

AM- 3.3 mile walk from home. Went to the doctor this morning, and she said that my health has improved enough that I can start my running back up tomorrow. She wants me to go by feel and keep the mileage low for now. Anywhere from 3-6 miles for now. I am glad to be back running tomorrow!

AM- 3.5 very slow. Didn't end up getting in a run like I wanted to yesterday, because I had to really catch up on some statistics and anatomy that was due yesterday. Even though it was slow, I felt decent for not running for a little over two weeks. Probably gonna try to do around 5 everyday this next week, then bump up the mileage, based on how my body is feeling.

AM- 4.6 miles easy. Felt better today than yesterday. Breathing is a little bit shallow, but that is to be somewhat expected.

AM- 6 miles easy from Aggie. First day with the watch since Sunday, which has been kind of nice to just go by feel on running. 7:56 average pace. Blood sugars were really high last night during the soccer game, so I didn't feel the greatest for today's run.

PM- 3.55 mile shakeout w/ some quick weights and core.

AM- 6.2 miles from Aggie. 7:33 average pace. Didn't get a run in yesterday, because of lots of homework catchup from the trip to Salt Lake this past weekend. It was a really fun trip with the anatomy class. We went up to Utah State in Logan and did an tour/interaction in the cadaver lab. Even though it was a bit sketchy in the lab, I actually thought it was quite interesting to say the least. Glad I didn't get sick and vomit in the lab though lol! On Sunday, my family and I made a good trip to Lagoon Amusement Park as well, which was a blast. Overall a fun weekend! Next Wednesday, I am running the Murray 4th of July 5k, and even though I am not in the shape I would like to be right now, because of my recent health issues with type 1 diabetes, I am just going to do the best I can and have fun on the 4th!

PM- 4.55 on the TM with some weights and core afterward. Turned the fans on full blast, because it just seemed crazy hot on the treadmill this afternoon. Felt good to double today!
