Ran cross country and track all throughout high school. Met a lot of great people and enjoyed the races, travel time, and the overall process for all four years. I made varsity several times throughout high school, but had to work quite a bit for it as well. Overall, had a great experience with it though!

Personal:

Born again Christian. I have been a type 1 diabetic since 2015 and celiac since 2018, and even though I have had my struggles with it, I still strive to live a healthy life. Senior at Utah State University studying Health Science. Hoping to go into pharmaceuticals and focus on diabetic supplies and medicine, because I am quite passionate about helping those that have the same medical condition as I do.

AM- Last day of the Boulder Running Camp. We ended up driving up to a place called Rollinsville, which is up in the mountains near Boulder. Mostly uphill going out, then a nice gradual downhill coming back down. Overall I really enjoyed my time here at the camp and learned a lot of good tips to apply in my own running journey!

PM- 10.6 after my anatomy final. Wasn't too bad of a test, I think that the only thing I missed on the test was a couple of the cranial nerves, but other than that I am confident I did great!

Later in the evening did a 3 mile shakeout on the TM.

AM- Ran the Sheep Creek 10k this morning. Not much of a warmup, because we had to drive almost an hour and a half to get to where they bus you to the start of the 10k race. I wanted to go somewhat hard during this race, but not to overdue it. First two miles in 6:00 and 6:15. This portion had some good downhill in it, so it wasn't very difficult. Next two miles: 6:26 and 6:56. Was starting to slow down during this portion of the race, but was actually starting to feel better. Last two miles were 6:48 and 6:53. Probably the last four miles of the race were taken somewhat conservative, but I was still pushing the pace to some degree of effort. Mile cooldown afterward. I got my CBC lab results back from last Wednesday, and I am still quite anemic with a hemoglobin level of 10.0 and iron at 24. This can definitely cause some of the symptoms that I have had as of late, like shortness of breath, dizziness, etc. I felt better today than I thought I would though, and I am still working towards getting better from where I was at two months ago.
