I made varsity several times throughout high school, but had to work quite a bit for it as well. Overall, had a great experience with it though!

Born again Christian. I have been a type 1 diabetic since 2015 and celiac since 2018, and even though I have had my struggles with it, I still strive to live a healthy life. Senior at Utah State University studying Health Science. Hoping to go into pharmaceuticals and focus on diabetic supplies and medicine, because I am quite passionate about helping those that have the same medical condition as I do.

So I have been kinda slacking on the blog a lot haha. But I have been running most days and crossfiting everyday so I have been getting fitter and stronger now I am going to start training for spring and get faster. So today I did 6 miles at 6:40 pace.

So today was my first day that I decided to run outside!!! Cause it was like 45 degrees today!!! I haven't been running much but I definitely need to start cause I'm doing the Salt Lake Half Marathon and I want to go for sub 1:20 if possible. So I have about a month or two before the race in April!!! Wish me luck!!!

Did a crossfit sort of work with some 400's in between. Ended up being about 2 miles of 400's.

5 easy miles at 7:37 pace. Definitley feeling better everyday that I get back into runners high!!! Later on that evening did a crossfit workout with lots of sprint ladders and intervals. Could feel my cadence picking up pretty good.

Went skiing out to Park City today which is kinda like my active rest day. Hit up some killer black diamonds and some moguls which were pretty rad!!! Went and ate Kneaders and had a some dessert. Got home and decided to do an easy 4 miles on the treadmill cause it was too dark outside and pretty chilly.

Slept in this morning cause I was kinda tired from the drive to Park City for some weird reason. Woke up and decided to go run some type of fartlek interval workout. I went 5-4-3-2-1. 5 minutes hard, 5 easy etc. Felt really smoothe , but I don't know what pace I was going cause my Apple watch has been acting weird. It said I was going 9 minute pace, and I don't think I was going that slow haha. Anyways it was a pretty good starter workout for the season. Cooled down to 5. 

Later in the afternoon did 4 easy miles at 7:15 ap.

Did a rowing workout in the AM before church. The workout was 6x1,000m with a one minute rest in between. Tough workout but fun and helps on a strong kick at the end of a race. Cool down of 2 miles running. 

PM- 3 mile easy recovery run out by the golf course at 7:22 ap. Haven't ran out by there in a while, but might do it more often cause of the awsome sunset. #utahisrad

AM- 6 miles easy before school. Average pace was around 6:55, which was surprising cause it felt really easy and smooth haha.

PM- so the Crossfit Open is going on right now which I am super stoked about, but I don't want to do too much Crossfit cause of the season coming up and especially since it's my last year of XC. But I did the 16.1 workout and beat my old score by 24 reps. Shoutout to my fellow Uintah Cherokees for doing the root beer mile. Wish I could have done it but I am a diabetic haha!!!

So I haven't updated the blog for a while but since this is my first half marathon of the year I'll probably start posting some stuff haha. Anyways got up at 5 am cause the tracks train left at 6 am. It was kinda cold when we left but still not too bad. Both the marathon and the half marathon started at the U of U by the hospital and ended by the Utah Court House. But we winded through a lot of neighborhoods and such.  My goal was sub 1:20 I knew I had it in me if the weather conditions were good and the course didn't have a lot of hills. But karma got me today it was quite a hilly course with lots of long stretch hills which slowed me down about off goal pace. And my first mile was a 5:23 which wasn't the plan haha. But on the good side of things my average pace was 6:19/mile so I am happy about because I haven't ran a lot of mileage at goal pace. Good race and a lot of fun. I took 12 th overall out of 1694 runners and first in my age group out of 43 kids. Which I'm happy with. Sadly I didn't beat all the girls in the race (two beat me) they were probably Kenyans or something. Good race to start out with, but I'll try to go sub 1:20 next time and hopefully get it. #GoodTimes

Yes, this course is hard to PR on. You've got to take the downhill fast to begin with because holding back on the downhill would be bad, but then you pay for it later no matter what.

Went up to Steinaker State Park in the AM. Ran about 3.5 at 7:25 average pace then just hiked up some hills and the rest of the trail.

AM- Went to Crossfit for the annual Memorial Day Murph workout which is pretty tasking. 1 mile run then 100 pull-ups 200 push-ups 300 squats then another mile run my chest felt so sore the rest of the day but for a good cause!!                 

PM- Went to the park to run with Nathan aka Eugene it was about 6 miles!! He pushed me pretty good!! The pace was around 6:26 average of my dumb watch is correct. Anyways strides and cool down. Overall a good Memorial Day!!

AM Went to the park and did a easier tempo run today at 6:15 pace for 30 minutes. I felt really good and smooth the entire time. It was really great. 

PM I went bowling today over in Duchesne and had a good time with some friends. Drove until we got into Maeser and then ran 3 miles easy back home. Average pace was about 7:03

PM Went to the mountain with the old man today shot some prairie dogs aka "pot guts" then drove around on our ATVs. We killed like 28 of the prairies so it was a good day. Afterward ran 5 miles on our dirt road that leads to the main highway. Average pace was 6:33. I felt really good today for both runs!!!

Wow it's was a crazy week last week. Went down to Tijuana for some treatment for my t-1 diabetes. I am praying that they can cure it. Then went and toured a little bit of San Diego which was sick!!! Didn't do much running but it was kinda my week break so it's all good still did a lot of massages and detoxes though Today just did an easy 7 miles at 7:34 pace to get the legs moving again for Ragnar!!!!

We had a great weekend at the Ragnar Relays this weekend!!! Had good runs on all the legs that I ran!! Except for the last one where I had some stomach issues at the end. Our whole team did really great considering everything that happened along the way. Rylie ran two legs instead of one, Jacia wasn't able to make it, and Kyrie was really nice to help out an old lady who passed out so S/O to her. We gave it everything we had and did what we could at the end. It was a moment I'll never forget. Thanks to everyone that did it with me!!!

AM Ran at the top of Diamond mountain and up to our cabin it was a good run. Killed lots of Prairie dogs (about 28). A good 6 miles at 7:09 pace

PM Ate lunch came down off Diamond mountain and decided to run from the Honda Hills to home. It wasn't quite unpleasant with the 97 degree weather but a good mental challenge. 3 miles total at 6:42 pace.

Woke up at 5. Did a mile warmup with some dynamics. Met up with Eugene for 10 mile progression run starting out at the top of the BrushCreek road and heading back to my house. First mile was about a 6:50, felt really good for quite a ways and then hit two monster hills that burnt the legs pretty good. Saw a blow snake about half way good thing it wasn't a rattler cause I almost stepped on it haha. Kept the pace nice and smooth until we got about a mile till my house. And picked it up a bit. My watch is stupid so we went off of Eugenes and it was about a 6:58 average. Good run!!! Also S/O to Eugene for going 15 for the day and good luck to him on his 10k next week. #BeatTheBaller

AM Went out to Salt Lake for my dads doctor appointment we are praying that he doesn't have cancer. Went to Sugarhouse Park and did an easy 2.5 shakeout.

AM- Went to practice at 6am. Mile warmup with the team, dynamics and then started the workout. It was a fartlek. 2(4 min hard/4min easy). 2(3min hard/3min easy). Then finished with 2min hard. It was a good effort. I went with Eugene for most of it. He was about 75m ahead of me on each repeat. Tried to stay with him but my legs wouldn't hold up. Kept about a 5:15-5:20 pace for the hard minutes. Cooled down to 9 with Eugene. 

PM- Easy 3.5 from the park to my house. Kept it really slow for some extra recovery miles.

AM- Didn't really do much running today. Crossfit workout which was pretty gnarly. The workout was 2 rounds of 50-40-30-20-10 of double unders on the jump rope and in between sets 10 burpees and 10 box jumps. Time was 18:41. Good workout. Then did a easy mile cooldown.

PM- 2 mile warmup jog then just did 6.5 miles on the assault bike. Followed by some more burpees.

Woke up pretty early got to the race and warmed up 2 miles strides and dynamics. Then the race was off. Got out a lot better than last year because there was one girl ahead of me last time haha!! First mile was 5:44. Felt pretty good but should have gone out faster. Was passing a few people then trying to stick with this guy in crocs( I mention him in a bit). Second mile came in a little faster with a 11:26. Felt pretty good most of the way. Then we hit a hill and my legs got really stiff. Tried to stay with the next guy but just couldn't hold on. Anyway good race and a fun morning. Yesterday I didn't eat good at all and I think it affected me big time today!!! So next race I'm gonna change that. After the race you will never believe who I met. It was the guy that started this great social blog we are all on. Him and his son ran it and they are super fast and from Russia!!! AM- Warmed up 2.5 then dynamics and some static stretch cause I was a little tight. Then drove to U hill for a good hill run. I decided to start off slower than normal and then kick it in once I got a little further up the hill. Legs were definitely burning a bit. Haha. Was pretty happy with my effort this morning got to the "U" just under 16 minutes. (15:43). My watch said 2.43 at the top so it was a good effort. Enjoyed the view at the top then coasted down the hill and cooled down to get to 8.

PM- 4 more miles in the pm. Went and bought some bear spray before I went and ran cause there's this dumb pit bull on the way. But sadly I wasn't able to use it. Oh well I'll try it next time.

AM- Easy 7 out on the Brush Creek dirt trail. Average pace right around 6:53. My foot got a huge blister from U hill yesterday and it hurt really bad for the first 3 miles of this run. But as I got going it felt a little better. I'll see how it feels for an afternoon shakeout run later today.

AM- Mile repeats today. Warm up 1 mile, dynamics and strides, and then we were off. It was me Kedric and Clayton for the first one. They both went out pretty fast on this one. My legs were not warmed up at all on this one. The first mile repeat of this workout is usually always my worst one. 5:54 for the first one. Second one Eugene showed up and he went quite ham on it and my legs felt better on this one. 5:37 for the second one. Third one I felt even better. 5:33 for it. After the third repeat my legs were kinda dead, and so were Clayton's so we decided to go alittle conservative on it, and just go at 6 flat pace. 5:57 for the last one. Not a bad workout. I do need to get some more speed, but I know it will come as the season goes on. Did a 2,5 mile cooldown with Eugene and Clayton. I caught alot of Rattata's on the way which was good. Then after the cooldown me and Clayton went all around town looking for Charmander. It was a fun time!!! #CherokeeSquad

PM- 4 mile shakeout in the afternoon, and it was hot out. Average pace was 6:37. I am trying to do some running in the heat of the day, since most of our early races are at like 4pm and it will be like 90+ degrees haha.

AM- woke up at 5:30. Got to the race at about 6:30. Mile warmup followed by dynamics, speed changes and strides. At the starting line saw Sasha and the Pachev family, some guys from Alta who were pretty fast and some from Corner Canyon. I think I saw some other guys from the blog, Rob Murphy, Steven, and some other guys. Gun goes off and we set out. I got an ok start but nothing great. First mile 5:38. Legs felt really good for most of the race. I knew though that this race is really competitive. So I just tried to run my race and not get caught up with what was way ahead of me. 2 mile 11:14. I was still feeling good and I decided to start to surge this last mile but I knew it might be a little early. With 800 to go I past one kid from Alta. And I think one from Corner Canyon. With 200 to go I just gave it ham haha. 16:58 at the 3 mile mark. And 17:41 for the finish!! Good race and a or for the 5k with little speed for the summer.  Cooldown a mile to get to 5 for the morning. S/O to Eugene for killing his race and a solid PR!!!

AM- Mile warmup and dynamics. Then me Eugene, Clayton, and Kedric set out for the 7 mile loop on Vernal Avenue. Started out at about 7:30 pace then dropped it down quite a bit. Lost Clayton a little less than half way then Kedric kept the pace steady for him, and Eugene and I kept surging off each other. So we lost Kedric about 4 miles in. We were trying to catch the girls. Who set out for 5 or 6 miles. Caught them and the me and Eigene kept playing dirty surges with each other haha. Finally when we got to the end of the canal Eugenewent on the canal road and got ahead of me. By then I was tired of surging and gave in. Average pace was right around 6:42. 

PM- 3,5 shakeout when I got home. Didn't feel so good cause my blood sugar has been running high lately. Especially in the mornings. Hopefully it will calm down some. Average pace 6:43

 AM- Went out on the Brush Creek Trail Road for an easy 7 miles. It was really nice weather. I felt good except my blood sugar has been really bad still, gonna have to change some things with my insulin and diet. I hope that it will be good for the race on Saturday.

RACE DAY

Had to wake up at 4 am cause the race started at 6 and I wanted to be ready to go. It was pretty hot. Like 75 most of the race, but a good overcast. Warmed up about a mile with several strides and dynamics. Got to the line and there were about 300 to 350 people in the race. It didn't look too competitive. I thought it was possible I could take the win on this one. The race was off. From the start it was me and this other guy. Who looked pretty competitive. First mile 5:53. A little fast but nothing crazy. 2 mile 11:54. Keeping the pace steady. Mile 3 came in about 17:51. Still ahead of goal pace but nothing crazy. I led for about 4 miles then my legs really started to cramp up on me. I've been quite dehydrated lately and I should have prepared for it better but oh well the past is the past. The guy started to get a bigger lead on me and I knew I probably wouldn't catch him. So I just tried to set it on cruise from there some races just aren't as good as others. It was hot, my shoe lace came untied, thoughts things happen its part of the process. Sverage pace was 6:21. Just never give up!!!! #CherokeeNation#TooBlessedToBeStressed

Felt fine the entire time. Got 5:12, which isn't too bad for no speed work and not doing much track work. Had alot more left in the tank for sure. Afterward did a 3 mile cooldown with Clayton and Talon. Average pace 6:58. Gonna do the Daniel Gurr 5k tonight. Not really gonna try and race it just see how I feel. Should be a good night.

PM- Got to the 5k and got signed up. There were not as many people there as I thought but it was still a fun race. Got out and everyone was basically jogging like a 9:00 pace so I just decided to start out really easy with a 7:40 pace the first couple minutes, but then there was this one marine who started to basically go ham!!! Dropped the pace down to 5:30 after that haha. Got about 2 miles in and he died, so I was basically alone and took it at a tempo pace for the rest of the run. Cause I really didn't feel like going race pace for this run. Came in at 19:11. I believe it was a little longer than a 5k because there are lots of 5ks at the college and they all start at the college but this one started at the high school. Today was time trials. Woke up and felt really quite good for 5 am. Mile warmup then we were off. I didn't really have a goal time just placement in any of the top three. First mile it was me, Kedric, and Clayton, which is who was in the race for top three the whole race. I tucked in behind Clayton and Kedric for half the race then Kedric made a big surge to the front so I decided to try and go with him. Tried to catch him at the post office turn but didn't quite get it. Finished with a 17:11. Which is a lot better than last years time trials. After I saw the time I was hoping for sub 17 but oh well still happy with it to get the XC season started off.  Our top three boys are strong just need to get four and five up there. The girls ran really good times too. Went to Kedrics house for breakfast after which was nice.

First day of school man the summer has flew by too fast haha!!! Only went to the assembly and then first hour then we headed for the meet. I honestly did not feel quite right when I got there, but when I got moving around felt better. Did about a mile warmup then strides and dynamics and we were off. First mile was right around a 5:45ish. Which felt a lot harder than normal because of the heat it was like 95 today so pretty bad. Then second mile I tried to just keep picking kids off and moving up. Finished with an ok time but I was hoping for low 16. But I was happy with the effort today considering the conditions. S/O to everyone on the team that competed today, first meet of the season and now all the jitters are out. Next is to get ready for Pre Region and Payson Meet!!!

PM- Was gonna wake up before school and do like 3 miles easy or something but I was pretty tired from the meet so I just slept in. I don't have a 5th hour this tri-mester so I decided to do 5 easy miles before practice cause today is core day. Pace was easy with 7:08 average. Got to practice and I thought it was at 3:30, but it was at 3 so I didn't do a full warmup mile. Did s few form strides then we did a 1.25 miles to the bull and back. That was a little quicker with a 6:20 pace. Then did some core and Oly lifting after. Cooldown a little bit afterward.

AM- Got out a little later today cause I was up late at the football game. Today I decided to get in a little it of speed. AM- 5 miles easy in the morning average about 7 flat which felt nice. Went out to the Honda hills and back.

PM- All I can say is this run was like running on the highway to hell!! Please excuse my French but it was terrible. 50 mph winds. We ran up to yellow hill from the high school and did a ladder up it. Clayton and I didn't start when everyone did so cause had to go to the bathroom, but we still tried to go and catch everyone. Got to the hill and had to stop cause I wanted my legs to feel somewhat good on the hill. Got up and down the first ladder and my legs were really tight. Then the second till the last felt a lot better. On the way back I picked up the pace quite a bit and the wind was with me so that felt nice. Pace on the way back was 6:00 flat. Was pretty tired when I got back but it was still a good run!! Hot tubbing while right this.

Today was not quite an ideal race for me. I felt good until about mid afternoon and I got really tired and I had a headache Checked my blood sugar and it was really high 220. So I took some insulin and did my 2 mile warmup with dynamics and some strides. Then I checked right before the race just so it would be all good and it was really low, 44. You have got to be kidding me. I was almost going to not run just to be safe. I ate a bunch of fruit snacks and drank some Gatorade about 5 minutes before the race. Got out felt really bad the first mile. Then I think the food kinda kicked in so I felt a little better the rest of the race. Kedric and Claytons watch said a 5k when they crossed the finish so maybe it was a 5k. But oh well it's only pre region so no big deal.

Today was the a pretty good day for the whole team. Got to the course and jogged around 3 miles before our race. Dynamics and several strides then we were off. Got to the course and jogged about 1.5 around the track and some of the course. Chilled out for awhile and watched the other races which were sick!! Then warmed up another 1.5. Gun goes off and I got an ok start. Went out and stayed with Kedric and Clayton for a while but then I started feeling really tight in my legs and really stiff. The whole race from about a half mile in my legs were really tight. First mile was a 5:25. Not too bad. Then hit the two mile in 11:22. Then finished with a 17:23. Wasn't near the race I wanted and the way I wanted to feel but I tried. I'm gonna just have to make sure my legs feel good before. S/O to my boy Kedric for getting top 30 and a killer time way to go man. Also S/O to Rylie for also killing it and to the rest of the team!!!

Home meet today. I have been getting scold the last few days and my blood sugar has bee going crazy high so I didn't really feel like myself during this one. Got out pretty fast and there was this one Payson kid that went out super fast. He then died later around the second mile. Then it was just me ClaytonKedric and Cody Layton from Altamont. Got past the big hill and my legs were dead. I just tried to hang in there till the finish. Ended up getting third which is my best finish at the meet. So I'm happy with it and our team won the meet which was good. Hopefully this cold goes away before Wasatch

Was really excited for the race today. Felt really good and was ready to tear it up!!! Warmed up 3 miles throughout the afternoon before my race started. I was the third runner so I had a little while before my race. Got out good and legs felt fresh. First mile 5:32. Kept going strong and hung with the pack. Didn't get my 2 mile split cause I tried running without my watch today. Kept pushing through most of it. I felt really good on the hills today so I thought I put in a pretty good effort. Wanted to break 17 today really bad but it wasn't the day I guess. I only have 3 meets left and the counts state so hopefully it's 3 meets for sure. This year has gone by so fast. So today was the handicap race for the year. Slowest person goes first then the next and so on.... it was based on PRs for the season so I went third to last. I felt pretty good except for S little tightness in the quads. I caught up to Talon and Davy about 1 mile in. Then Kedric and Clayton caught up to me and Kedric hauled from then on so S/O to him. I managed to keep the pace going hard and get my lead from the start on Clayton. After that I just pushed to the finish. It was a good race and I felt much better than I felt at Park City. Watch said 2.95 at the finish so I'll go with that. Calculated it out and it's sub 17!!!! Super happy with the result. Getting pumped for something good at region!!

Coming into today. I didn't know if this would be my last crosscountry race or not. I just came into the race menatlity that I can do this, we can do this. I believed that we would have a chance at making it to state. Got to the course and walked half of it, which was nice because I wanted to make sure that I knew where I could hug the inside lane of the course as much as possible. Warmed up and got to the line. I was excited and not really nervous. I wanted to enjoy this race and at the same time put everything I had into it. Got out really good today and was right up in the top 10-15 spots. Hit the mile in 5:17, which wasn't ideal, but it happens. Kept pushing and came through the second mile in 10:56. I was feeling really good up until this point in the race. I then started having some tightness in my legs and just couldn't keep the pace I had held really well for the last two miles or so. I thought that Salem Hills was the team that we had to really target on, but it turns out they were way ahead of us. I kept thinking in my mind that we could do it. I didn't know what would happen, but I tried to push that last 800. Finished in 17:13. I was told that it is alittle over 3 miles and not quite a 5k so I put it in as 3.05. Well thats it. My high school crosscountry career has come to a end. It really has been the best four years of my life so far, and I have learned alot through it. I really am going to miss racing and practices. It's been a good ride. S/O to Kedric and Rylie for making it to state, and for the entire team making my last year an awsome experience.

PM- Did a really tough workout today. Warmed up on the assault bike and then stretched out and got ready for the workout. The workout was 2 rounds for time of: 1 mile run in 5:45, 20 box jumps, 25 snatches, 500m row, 2 minute plank, and 20 burpees. Started out pretty good. Hit the first mile in 5:34. Then got through the first round of the box jumps, snatches and everything else. It was really tough after the first round of everything. I tried really hard to push through everything. The hardest part was probably the row and the mile. Everything else wasn't too bad. Really good workout. Gonna take it easy tomorrow and recover. Possibly will do a mile time trial on Friday. Cooldown 2 miles.

AM- Today I decided to do my half marathon preparation run. The plan was to about 6 miles at half marathon goal pace, 6:05 average. My main concern in the half that I am running this Saturday is to keep the legs feeling loose and fresh. I set off and felt really good the first 3 miles. 17:52. Then I just tried to stay as relaxed as possible for the last 3. Legs got a little tight for the last little bit but overall a good pre race workout. Finished in 37;:31 for 6.1 miles, which I think I kept a pretty good pace throughout the run. Cooldown mile after. Now it is time to start tapering.

PM- Did my last hard effort workout today before the half marathon this weekend. Decided to just do the good old workout that consists of 2 rounds of 1 mile run in 5:45 then 20 box jumps, 25 db snatches, 500m row, 2 minute plank, and finish off with 20 burpees at the end of both rounds. It was pretty tough I will admit. This workout always hurts everytime that I do it. Especially doing the second mile when my entire core and upper body is burning from the snatches and plank. RACE DAY

Today was a great race. Woke up at 5:30, ate breakfast, and got mentally prepared for the race. Got to the mall where the buses were to pick us up. Got up to the starting line and did 1.5 warmup and dynamics. Was feeling good except for my blood sugar was high so I kinda felt like I had a headache. Gun went off and I got out towards the front. First mile was 5:36, a little fast. 2 mile split was 11:14. 3 mile 17:04. 10k split was roughly 36:35. I was feeling good until mile 10. That's when I was starting to hurt. I just kept trying to push and finished in 1:18:47!! PR by about 2 minutes. Super happy with the effort today!!! Now time for pizza.

PM- 4.5 miles easy out by the buckskin hills. Felt very tight today just because I didn't warm up well. I really need to warm up better before I head out for my runs.

Later in the evening I decided to go to crossfit which was sort of a bad idea because I really didn't feel too good and I was very sore afterward. It was a good workout overall though, even if it hurt alot. The workout was for time 21 wall balls, 400m run, 21 wall balls, 400m run, 42 wall balls, 400m, 42 wall balls, 400m. Did it in just under 16 minutes, which isn't a great time for just that many wall balls, but I am just starting back up. Praying for our country tonight. Whatever happens God is in control.

PM- Today in weight training Stensgard had us do the mile for one of our test. I had totally forgot my running shoes or even flats this morning. So no running shoes no warmup whatsoever. Just me and my good ole slip on shoes that I have had since like 8th grade. Ran just a 5:40, which I really didn't care too much about this so I will be more prepared next time we test the mile.

After school I went out for 7 easy. Didn't have guitar practice tonight so I went ahead and did 3 on the treadmill with 2.5 being at 6 flat pace. Felt a little bit of lactic the first few minutes but then it went away.

AM- Today in weight training we did the plank for time. I was shooting for 16 minutes but only went for 13:10. Gonna go for 16:30 next time.

PM- Did a running/Crossfit combo. Felt pretty good for the whole workout. 2 rounds of 1 mile at 6:00 pace. Then 20 box jumps, 25 DB snatches, 500m row, 2 minute plank and 20 burpees. Did another 6:00 pace mile after the 2 rounds to finish out.

PM- 7.5 on the Brush Creek Trail today. Felt good except for a high blood sugar(327). Legs felt really strong and fresh today, considering the hard workout that I did yesterday. Didn't track time or pace, but the pace was probably just under 7.

Did another 2.5 later in the evening before it got too dark. (It was pitch black).

AM- Ran the local 5k, which I didn't run last year, because it seemed to be too cold, but it was still very chilly this morning (28 degrees). Warmed up about a mile at home then drove to the course. It's just the same old Aggie 5k course that is ran every single year. Oh well. Kedric was there so I knew that it was going to be a challenge to actually win the race. But I kinda went out what I felt was a good pace, but nothing crazy. Was about 15-20 seconds behind him the entire race. There was this one kid that was with me until the last stretch, which was surpising, but S/O to him. Came in with a 18:01. Nothing impressive, but I have done zero speed workouts since my half marathon race in October, so its not a bad time. Good start to Thanksgiving, now time to set the scales back 10 lbs and fill up on food!!!

PM- Did an easy shakeout run before dinner. Just an easy 4 miles at around 7:30 pace

PM- Went over to do some post summer yard work for my grandma, who bosses me a ton. So I was pretty tired from that. But I still got in 3 miles after a day of yard work. Averaged like a 6:35 for the run. Hands got pretty cold for the first mile or so.

PM- 9 miles out by the Honda Hills. It was pretty nice outside until I got about 4 miles out then it started to get snowy and windy. AM- 8 miles on the treadmill cause it snowed, and there was quite a bit of ice everywhere, but then it turned out being nice in the afternoon. My luck of course.
